Samuel McManamy, of Jacks Creek, and his family left Kelley on Monday morning for Missouri, where he will make his home.

VOLUNTEER ENLISTMENT PAPERS
State of Pennsylvania, Town of Lewistown
I, Samuel H McManamy born in Mifflin County in the State of Pennsylvania aged twenty one years, and by occupation a laborer, Do Hereby acknowledge to have volunteered this twenty fourth day of February 1864, to serve as a Soldier in the Army of the United States of America, for the period of three years, unless sooner discharged by propery authority; Do also agree to accept such bounty, pay, rations and clothing, as are, or may be, established by law for volunteers. And I, Samuel H McManamy do solemnly swear, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the United States of America, and that I will serve them honestly and faithfully against all enemies or opposers whomsoever; and that I will observe and obey the orders of the President of the United States, and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the Rules and Articles of War.

Know ye, That Samuel McManamy, Private of Captain George W. Soults
Company 26, 149th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers, who was enrolled
on the 24th day of February 1864 to serve three years or during this war,
is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States this 24th day
of June 1865, at Elmira New York by reason of authority of Sect. of War
dated June 13, 1865.
No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist.
Said Samuel McManamy, was born in Griffin Co., in the State of
Pennsylvania, is 21 years of age, 5'6" high, fair complexion, grey eyes,
dark hair, and by occupation when enrolled, a laborer.
Given at Elmira New York, this 24th day of June 1865.
