West Cuivre Baptist Church Cemetery
Section 28, T51N, R6W. From intersection of USHy54 & STHy 19, travel east on StRd BB about 3 1/2 miles to CoRd 603, then north on CoRd 603 to CoRd 600. Cemetery is located at the intersection of CoRd 603 and CoRd 600, adjacent to the church. Many burials are unmarked, inscriptions illegible or graves marked with fieldstones. There are indications of many removals of remains. Church is currently active (2005).

Notes on West Cuivre Cemetery- Slavin Family
Thomas J. “Jeff” Slavens was born 21 Sept. 1857 in Lincoln County, Mo. and died 3 April 1929 in Audrain County. He married Olivia “Livia” Jackson Elsberry,daughter of Andrew Jackson aand Sarah Green Elsberry. He removed to Audrain County in 1873 and remained there the rest of his life, living first in the Farber and Laddonia area until 1917, when he moved to near Rush Hill. He joined the West Cuivre Church about 1899. His eldest child, Walter Eugene, the child’s uncle, Richard Elsberry, and two of the Elsberry children died within a 2 week period and all are buried at West Cuivre.
