Offutt Cemetery # One
Located in the NW 1/2 of the SW 1/2 Sec. 25, T50N, R9W ( 1/4
miles south of State Hy HH on County Rd 275, 100 yards west of
the roadway in a field ) ( west of Hy 54 about 4 & 1/2 miles,
a mile north of the Callaway County line) )

Offutt Cemetery # Two
Salt River Township, Section 31, T50N, R9W.
in the 1930's and 1940's, the cemetery contained 35 to 40 tombstones and was surrounded by a fence. The stones are no longer in place now. *Miss Florence Offutt and her sister Ruth recorded a few of the stones. These transcriptions are likely the only known record of this cemetery.

These three children are buried in this Offutt Cemetery # 2, but their mother Aletha Offutt is buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Mexico. She was born 13 October 1817 and died 18 December 1890. The names of these three children are engraved on her monument. Two other children are buried in Warren County. |
