Audrain County Cemeteries

Berea Cemetery
{northwest corner of the northwest quarter of northwest quarter Section 35, T. 53 N, Range 9W } very close to the Monroe County line. This cemetery is not listed on the GNIS listings and is not on the large cemetery map.
Our Thanks to Rob who visited this cemetery December 28th, 2003 and provided the directions and information below.

"From Mexico take 15 north, turn right on Z.  Will be heading east then Z will turn due north.  Follow Z north, just after bridge over Young's Creek turn right on Co. Rd. 368.  This is a gravel road that will take you east then turn sharp to the North. At this turn on the NW side is the little Berea Cemetery. Can't miss it." " It is still well kept" ....There is a plastic container hanging at the gate with plastic baggies in it.  I think it is for collections.  There is also a mailbox with a slot cut in the front and a lock on the door.  We assumed it was to put the donation in.  I hope so because that is what we did.  It is a very small cemetery, guessing 50-75 graves.  It is still used, there were burials as recent as late 90's."

Thanks to Rob, this gives a perspective of the location. "Berea is on the West side of the road where it runs north and south.  At the inside of the Southern turn to the North is a small white patch.  That is the area to park and enter the cemetery just to the North.  The Western and Northern boundary lines are the tree lines.  The Eastern boundary is the road and the Southern extends from the tree line on the West to the road and is immediately north of the patch of gravel for parking."

This cemetery has been canvassed at some time or other.DAR Missouri Records, Salt Lake City: Gen. Soc. of Utah, 1971 FHL film 0870006.
